The Forum for African Women Educationists (FAWE) held a visit to Soroti University today the 8th of November, 2023 for a monitoring support. The purpose of the visit is to share experiences, challenges, and lessons related to the Higher Education Access Certificate (HEAC) Programme.
Following the status update from Irene Kisakye, Senior Assistant Academic Registrar, Soroti University is ready to have the HEAC program tailored. The accreditation requested was Submitted to the National Council for Higher Education for perusal. These programs are likely to start next Academic year 2024/25 depending on how soon the NCHE provisions the accreditation status.
In attendance were representatives from Gulu University, Busitema University and Soroti University. The program will be suited for applicants who will meet the minimum requirements that will be set by NCHE. HEAC as a bridging course that will assist needy and disadvantaged students who do not meet university entry requirements.
